| COMES COMPLETE WITH RUNNING WATER
The centerpiece of the Albany Downtown Riverfront Master Plan is the $31 million Flint
RiverCenter, a one-of-a-kind educational facility and tourist attraction featuring a constructed bluehole that demonstrates water discharge from the
Floridian aquifer. The sculptural building surrounding the bluehole is designed with underground passageways for visitors to view it and its unique ecologic and hydrologic components. A new habitat, including plants, insects, fish and animals, is incorporated into the exhibit, along with interactive and educational exhibits, an IMAX theater and a walking trail along a man-made stream connecting the exhibit to the Flint River. To be located at Pine Avenue and Front Street, the center includes approximately 35,000 gross square feet of indoor space and 19,050 square feet of outdoor space.
